It’s the same hubris from which we get mansplaining. I don’t think we can expect this to stop happening on it’s own. These white men, such as myself, are not going to stop expounding on our vast wisdom unless we get woke to the fact that it is neither vast nor wise.

The solution requires a two pronged approach. The first is compassion. We white men must be educated in a delicate way that preserves our fragile egos. Do not denigrate the animals. They will bite. Instead, use analogies that we agree with and carefully smoothe the corners as you guide us to reason. White lives do matter AND the police should not shoot us in the back, just like they shouldn’t shoot non-white people in the back.

The second prong is to encourage non-white, non-male people to stand up to white male hubris with compassion for our egos. There are not enough woke white males to successfully undertake this job. It takes a village.
